It’s important to remember that each vintage has its own history. The wine’s characteristics and its profile are defined by thousands of moments connected to the grapevine’s life – wind, sun, depth of roots and, of course, human intervention etc. 

Jumy Estate always has a focus towards increased vineyard health as we believe that the wine quality strongly depends on the grape quality. Our vines are cultivated on VSP trellis system, we prune the vines in a desired shape to determine the optimal yields of premium fruit. The average fruit yield per vine is restricted between 2.0-3.5kg. Dry farming method has been adopted leading to more intensely flavoured grapes. The sunshine that the Yarrode vineyard receives is ideal for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz - warmer days and colder nights, with sandy limestone soils.

To obtain high-quality wines, it is necessary to process healthy grapes at the correct ripeness level, all
stages of fruit development are overseen by our vineyard manager to retain the integrity of vineyard and season, nurture each wine’s personality.

The philosophy also extends to the winemaking, with fruit being hand-picked in the cool of the morning, then undergo the first stage of processing (separating the grape skins and juice) to ensures the grapes remain in peak condition, then left to undergo natural fermentation, and finally bottled with only a small amount of sulfur.

Jumy Estate offers three distinct cool climate wines via our “ODE 19” and “ODE 1952” labels, and “ODEVINE” for more wines and grape juices. Our “ODE 1952” wines are estate grown and made from fruits sourced from our Yarrode vineyard. Each wine is carefully nurtured to exhibit a range of flavours, aromas and textures that reflect our soil profile and cool climate location.
